The Highlights of Nintendo Direct

Nintendo is revving up for a good year. We have heard some interesting news in the video game industry for 2015, such as the upcoming release dates of Dying Light, Resident Evil Revelations 2, and more. However, Nintendo has really striven to shine. Though there are some interesting releases coming for the Wii U (Kirby and the Rainbow Curse being released February 20th), Super Mario Galaxy 2, Punch-Out, and Metroid Prime Trilogy being released on the Wii U), the handheld sector of Nintendo is receiving a lot of love.

I have written earlier about the rumor that Nintendo's New 3DS was scheduled for release in North America on February 13th. As of Nintendo Direct yesterday, the release date has been confirmed, complete with the Majora's Mask New 3DS Bundle (which has apparently sold out at Gamestop and is going for at least $350 on eBay) and the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Edition bundle. For those interested in purchasing the New 3DS, the system will not come with an AC adapter, which derives from Nintendo's expectation of players upgrading to the New 3DS from their current 3DS systems. The New 3DS will be available for purchase for a mere $199.

As previously mentioned, the free-to-play Pokemon Shuffle will be released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Additionally, "The Latest in the Fire Emblem Series" has been teased as a two minute trailer for the 3DS, Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition has been announced for the 3DS eShop, Hyrule Warriors will be receiving the Majora's Mask DLC pack next month, and previews of Story of Seasons, Etrian Mystery Dungeon, Ironfall, Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy +, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Party 10, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.
