Nintendo has confirmed that it will be releasing two DLC packs containing new characters, vehicles and courses, including additions from other Nintendo franchises, such as The Legend of Zelda's Link, and Animal Crossing's Villager and Isabelle.
Each pack contains four new vehicles, eight tracks and three characters all for $8 seperately or $12 together.
The first pack is coming in November of this year and includes:
- 3 Characters: Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link
- 4 Vehicles
- 8 Courses
- 3 Characters: Villager, Isabelle, Dry Bowser
- 4 Vehicles
- 8 Courses
Mario Kart 8's crossover DLC is just another example of Nintendo bringing its franchises together. The most notable instance of this is the Super Smash Bros. series, which recently suffered a pretty hefty leak of the 3DS and Wii U iteration's roster.
