Hsin Lo, another gamer that was nearby said he called for an ambulance after seeing Wu becoming pale. He said the following;
"I suddenly heard him groan and when I turned to see what had happened he was very pale and looked uncomfortable. He was dabbing his mouth with a hankie which had blood on it."
When paramedics arrived, they attempted to revive Wu but he was already dead.
A spokesman's for the police had this to say about the tragic incident;
"An autopsy will determine the cause of death but there seems little doubt his playing on the computer for 19 hours instead of resting contributed to his death."
This is all too sad and it seems to becoming quite the trend over in China with gamers there as seen in a few previous reports here, here and here. There really needs to be some kind of effort or campaign launched to educate gamers on the dangers of playing games for too long. Although apart of this might have been due to the fact that he was not a healthy person and didn't exercise one could ask? Until we know all of the facts it is hard to say but something should still be done to combat this rising trend.
What say you?
