An 18 year old gamer named Guo Quan has recently died due to a 24-hour gaming session. The Chinese gamer walked out of the cafe on May 19th, and this is when he fell to the ground and stopped breathing. Even though they arrived quickly, emergency services weren't successful in reviving Guo. Guo had been participating in many gaming marathons, so this was not his first 24-hour gaming session.

He did not die directly after his collapse, as the collapse landed him on life support. Guo was brain dead, which seems like a fairly brutal consequence to playing a game 24 hours straight. His parents could no longer afford to keep their son on life support, so he died when they pulled the plug.

So, it's very important that gamers remain as active as possible, because too much of anything is bad. This seems to be happening quite often, and not just in China. Guo's organs were donated to five other patients, so at least something good came out of this particular case. It is a sad day when someone dies, but who would have thought that gaming could kill you!
