It's looking pretty.

We've been following the development of CEMU's emulated version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild since basically right after the initial release of the game. Wii U emulator CEMU has been working hard to make Breath of the Wild playable on PC, and they are finally at what looks to be a finished product. CEMU was able to get Breath of the Wild playable right out of the box, but it suffered from very low framerates and a variety of bugs.

Finally, CEMU has Breath of the Wild playing at a consistent 30 frames per second. Rarely does the game ever drop frames anymore, and it looks more beautiful than ever. While it does run very well in the video above, it entirely depends on how powerful your PC is. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a visually stunning game, and you're going to want a good computer setup to really get the full experience of the game. Not only does the game look amazing on PC, but all the bugs have been fixed, and the game is fully playable and beatable in its current state. A Zelda game has never looked so good on a computer before, and it's definitely something to get excited about if you don't own a switch yet, like me.

Youtuber YamGaming is running Breath of the Wild with the following setup, but you can also optimize the CEMU settings to get the smoothest experience possible:
  • i7 6700k overclocked to 4.3ghz-Gtx
  • Nvidia 1070 class card
  • corsair h110i AIO
  • 16GB of GSkill Ripjaws RAM overclocked to 2400 mhz
If you're looking to play Breath of the Wild on your PC, be sure to check this CEMU subreddit dedicated to optimizing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to it's fullest potential. While this is great news for PC players worldwide, this is a bit of a gray area, legality wise. I'd play it while you can.
