GTA V was released for PC, Xbox One, PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360, although the people who opted for the latter two were in for a raw deal. As time wore on, Rockstar stopped supporting their version of the game with new updates and contents (there’s only so long we can support the past generations, after all), and nowadays if you’re looking to play the game online, doing it on the old PS3 or Xbox 360 isn’t really your best bet. The good news for these late comers is that you’ve always had the option to transfer your character and progress between systems, so when you did upgrade you wouldn’t have to start from scratch.

The bad news, however, is that Rockstar will soon stop supporting that functionality as well, meaning if you don’t do it soon, you’re gonna be stuck on an island. This info comes to us as part of a big sale article thing regarding GTA Online, where Rockstar also took some time to brag about how well their game is doing.

"If you have not yet brought your characters and progression over from PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC, time is running out as this will no longer be possible as of March 6, 2017."

So if you’re a late comer to the GTA party, you’d better hop on that. And don’t worry about the servers being dead: according to the article, GTA Online is thriving, with numbers in December actually being the largest that they’ve ever been in the game’s history. Seems people just can’t get enough of chaos with friends.

But if you can’t afford the upgrade? Well… that sucks.

In any case, you can check out the full celebration sale post-thing right here, if you want. Otherwise, ya’ll can go back to killing each other on repeat.
