You Can Spend WoW Gold on Overwatch/Heartstone/HotS Loot

And full games, if you want.

If youre anything like me, God help you, then you dont really play Blizzard games and you pick really bad openers for your articles. But if youre not like me, then theres a better-than-good chance you partake in the odd round of Overwatch or play a few hands of Hearthstone from time to time. Back in the day, it wasnt impossible you also played World of Warcraft, but statistically, the chances of that being true are diminishing.

Still, if you have an old account youre sitting on, you might want to pop back on, because Blizzard has just announced something exciting: in their continued war to curb-stomp the inflated economy in their MMO, theyre now offering players the chance to redeem their in-game gold for 15 bucks worth of credit to your Battle.net (or whatever theyre calling it these days) account, which can be used to buy loot boxes, card packs, skins, or even full games.

Heres how it works: use all that sexy in-game gold youve got to buy yourself a WoW token, which has historically been a way to add 30 days worth of play time to your WoW account. But instead of doing that, redeem it for 15 bucks instead, or roughly what one month of World of Warcraft is worth.

So you can literally finance your other Blizzard games just by playing World of Warcraft. Cool? Sure. Desperate? Seems that way. That struggling MMO is what made Blizzard the juggernaut that it is, and 15 bucks a month is a huge source of reliable income for Blizzard: why wouldnt they want to do the double-whammy of getting rid of extra gold while enticing players to re-join their MMORPG?

I give Blizzard a lot of flak, but even I have to admit when they have a good idea, and this is nothing if not a good idea. Happy farming, folks!
