Yooka-Laylee, The 3D platformer by all-star developer team Playtonic, will be coming to Nintendo Switch on December 14.

Yooka-Laylee was released in April for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The developers, Playtonic, comprised of a number of veteran developers from RARE, the creator of Banjo-Kazooie. It's easy to see the heavy inspiration from the famous bear and bird game series in Yooka-Laylee. Unfortunately, the game faced mixed reception on launch.

There was a mild controversy that arose when popular YouTuber, JonTron, was originally a voice actor in the game. This changed when he made a series of racially charged remarks online, leading to his lines being replaced in a digital patch.

The game was announced to be coming to the Switch back in February, though no release date was given until now. Originally the game was to receive a Wii U port, an idea that was later scrapped in favor of the Switch.

The happy and colorful style of Yooka-Laylee would be a perfect fit for a Nintendo console. You can find it for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and soon-to-be Switch for $39.99.
