Who would've thunk that a Kickstarter campaign would be funded so fast your head would spin? Today, the Kickstarter Campaign for Yooka-Laylee has been released, and already, in less than an hour, the funding has exceeded its goal.

Pretty crazy, isn't it?

Here's something even crazier -

The amount pledged has actually almost doubled Playtonic's goal. As of this exact time of writing, the campaign is sitting on a hefty $490,816, pledged of the $270,041 goal, and the number is steadily increasing every second.

With 46 days to go.

This is amazing. What do you believe the total amount will come to when the campaign reaches its deadline? My guess at this point?

$10,000,000.

Yooka-Laylee (once called Project Ukulele) is a 3D platformer from the creative team behind Banjo-Kazooie and the Donkey Kong Country series. The game is a platformer that utilizes the buddy-duo system, and Yooka, the chameleon, and Laylee, Yooka's faithful lady-bat companion, are the stars of this adventure.

The team wants to bring back the magic of platformers by introducing a shiny roster of collectibles that you can spend to access bigger and more challenging worlds, an arsenal of abilities such as sonar blasting, tongue whipping, and sky soaring, Play Tonics, which are unique gameplay modifiers and use them to customize gameplay to suit your style, and accessible arcade machines that focus on retro gaming.

Plus a snow world!

And David Wise!

For those that somehow don't know, David Wise is a legendary composer who composed the Donkey Kong Country series.

Note: Just for reference, the funding amount when finishing this article was $536,236.
