Based on a survey conducted by Chris Ferguson and John Colwell in 2014, there is no link between video game violence and real world violence. Their sample included more than 300 kids from the UK with varying backgrounds and exposure to video games. Regardless of the opposition to the findings, they are just another step in a continuing trend. It seems the data we collect on the issue, the more it proves the same point. There simply is no connection.
I probably didn't even have to bring this up. Being savvy gamers, you've probably all figured out a long time ago that video games don't cause players to be more aggressive or angry. In fact, the only contrary studies I've found that have any weight show that there may be some kind of correlation. But it's to a point where causation simply does not exit. To say that some aggressive people find solace and comfort in video games is like saying some heartless killers order pizza when they get hungry.
In short, video games are a multi-billion dollar industry where a huge portion of the population has had a taste. If they were to blame for an increase of violence and aggression, the evidence would be much more visible
