Since the overwhelmingly disappointing launch of No Man's Sky, Hello Games has been constantly releasing updates in an attempt to fix a game that should have never released in its state. Releasing unfinished games is something than many AAA studios are guilty of, but coming from an indie studio with the hype of a AAA project, No Man's Sky definitely had a lot to live up to. No Man's Sky launched with a lot of issues, but Hello Games has come a pretty long way since the initial launch day.

Update 1.24 launched today just one week after the previous update. While this update didn't bring any new content like other updates, it did provide some much-needed optimizations and bug fixes. No Man's Sky nowhere close to a perfect game, and it still has a lot of issues, but this update brings it a lot closer to perfection, or at least as close as it could get. Hopefully, this update is one of a few that will tackle all the games issues. Update 1.24 comes in at 3.9GB on the PlayStation 4 and 1.4 GB on PC.

Patch Notes:
  • Fixed an issue that caused players bases not to appear
  • Optimized light shafts, allowing us to enable them on PS4 Fixed a game freeze/lock up that could occur when in space
  • Improved frame rate when playing with unlocked frame rate, or vsync disabled
  • Fixed some issues with Steam controller prompts Various minor performance optimizations
  • Fixed some rare crashes & freezes
While No Man's Sky obviously caused a lot of uproar when it launched, its come a long way, and Hello Games has added some great content into the game since. The most impressive part of the game is arguably it's beautiful scenery (depending on the planet) and Hello games recently added a photography function that gave players a new incentive to explore other than just mining rocks with a laser.
