Yandere Simulator Receives Banhammer from Twitch

Probably didn't like that "Notice me Senpai" was brought to a new level.

Seems like more and more games are being banned from Twitch lately. Most recently we heard of Shower Simulator being banned, and now it's Yandere Simulator. This anime-type PC only creepy game has been banned from streaming, meaning that if a player streams this, they're going to get banned. Unfortunately, there's not a clear reason for the ban, but the developer is willing to make some changes... that is, if he could get a hold of Twitch. So far, they've been rather unresponsive.

From what we know so far, Yandere Simulator places you into the shoes of a psycho school girl who is trying to win the affection of schoolboy Taro Yamada, no matter what it takes. This can range from manipulating other females to do her bidding to outright killing them. So far, it's gained its own cult, and it's not finished yet! There's also lots of NSFW content in there, ranging from panty shots to all out nudity (thanks to an easter egg), but games like Outlast have been allowed for streaming purposes.

According to Kotaku during their interview with YandereDev:

"Twitch.tv is, by far, the most dominant game streaming website on the Internet. Twitch almost has a monopoly on game streaming. Thre are some noteworthy competitors, but Twitch's reach and visibility is beyond anything else available. As a result, when Twitch refuses to allow a certain game to be broadcasted, it deprives that game of a lot of visibility."

Honestly, at this point, the amount of press it's receiving over the ban may be more than enough to cover the visibility loss. People may want to purchase the game simply to stick it to Twitch, but who knows?

"It frustrated me greatly to hear about games getting censored. I've always been strongly against censorship, even when the subject being censored was unimportant to me. First they'll censor things that you don't care about, then they'll censor things that you do care about, and then they'll censor you. You have to protect all things from censorship, even the things you don't care about, to protect yourself and the things you care about."

So, if Twitch returns contact, he's willing to negotiate and actually modify the giant, nude girls (which is a blatant reference to Attack on Titan), make the character's ages ambiguous and turn the setting into more of an "academy" than a high school.

Wouldn't that still be more high school like though? I guess it could be college related...

Either way, here's hoping for a clear reason from Twitch.
