At long last, Yakuza Studio is developing something other than a Yakuza game.

Yakuza Studio, the team behind the Yakuza games (surprising, I know), plans to announce a new IP soon.

The teaser information was revealed at the recent SEGA-Nama live stream. Toshihiro Nagoshi spoke during the stream, detailing information regarding Yakuza Online, as well as stating that the studio has a new IP, which they plan to announce in September. The game has apparently been in development over the last three years, and that Nagoshi has been hinting at the game for just as long. Despite this, all we know at this time is that it will be "very different."

While we wait, Yakuza Kiwami 2 was released today on PlayStation 4. The game takes place one year after the 10 billion yen incident. Kiyru has to travel to Osaka to try and resolve a conflict between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance.

With the 2018 Tokyo Game Show starting September 19, it's safe to assume the game in question will be announced around this time. Stay tuned for more.
