"Knights assemble!
Stay tuned to @IGN next week for the first look at an all new game coming to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. We can't wait to throw down the gauntlet and show you what we've been working on!"
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is the complete edition of the game, including the original Sheild of Hope campaign, as well as the three DLC campaigns: Plague of Shadows, Specter of Torment, and King of Cards. It was released in 2017 for PC and consoles.
With this tweet being the only information we have about this upcoming surprise, fans are speculating as to the meaning of the particular word choices. Saying "throw down the gauntlet" has led many to hope for either some kind of battle mode. Others believe it's a hint toward Mole Knight's digging gauntlets since all previous updates have been centered around a previous Knight.
We'll just have to wait and see. Shovel Knight is available now on PC, Nintendo 3DS, Switch, Wii U, PlayStation 3, 4, Vita, and Xbox One for $24.99.
