One of the big disappointments of XCOM 2, for me, was the fact that I really couldn't play it. While I was a big fan of XCOM: Enemy Unknown (spoiler: the enemy was ALIENS), my PC wasn't robust enough to handle it, so I played it on the PS3. When XCOM 2 was announced, I was all prepared to give it my money, but, alas... it was a PC exclusive. Heartbreaking. I quietly moved on, cradling my wounds, adding yet more broken dreams onto the pile of my lifelong disappointments...
But the folks at Firaxis (or, more specifically, their corporate overlords at 2K) decided that their PC-exclusive mindset simply wasn't making them enough money, so this September, they're going to port the famed PC Strategy game to the Xbox One and PS4. Check out this trailer son:
Earlier, Firaxis explained that XCOM 2 was going to be PC exclusive because they felt it was their forte and they could design a better game with keyboards and mice than they could with controllers. While I'm kind of sad they're probably being forced to compromise on their artistic vision... I really just want to play XCOM 2, so... yeah, I'm suddenly okay with artistic compromise.
Funny how the world works.
