While it may not come as a complete surprise to most people, Microsoft has confirmed that it will not be hosting a keynote at Tokyo Game Show next month. Word of this comes from Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg, who tweeted out the news on his personal Twitter when responding to a fan.

Despite the lack of anything resembling a press conference, Xbox will have a presence at the show, as confirmed by Head of Xbox Phil Spencer from his Twitter. However, just how much of a presence the Xbox One will have at the Tokyo Game Show is currently unknown

The Xbox One will be launching in Japan on September 4th, two weeks prior to when the Tokyo Game Show begins on September 18th. Coming out swinging in Sony's home territory (granted, the PlayStation 4 isn't doing too hot in the East, either) would have made more sense for the company considering the Xbox brand's previous struggles in Japan. For reference, of the Xbox 360's 80+ million units sold, a measly 1.6 million of them came from its Japanese audience.
