Microsoft's Xbox One S has recently received a price drop in the United States as Christmas is fast approaching. All major retailers have reduced the price of the system bundles by $50 and allows buyers to obtain a free game with the system as well.

The 500GB Xbox One S can currently be picked up for $249, which is the one of the lowest retail prices it has ever been at. The 500GB console bundle comes with Battlefield 1 if you decide to purchase it through Amazon, and the 1TB console can be picked up for only $50 more for $299, which includes Gears of War 4. If you decide to take advantage of this deal, you better act quick. Microsoft has stated that this great deal will come to an end on December 24th, so no after-Christmas purchases will make the cut. If neither of these Amazon bundles appeal to you, feel free to check out Microsoft's store online and see what else is available.

It appears as though Microsoft has issued this price drop in response to Sony's cut on their PS4 500GB Slim Uncharted 4 bundle, which is also priced at $249 right now.

Even though these consoles are getting some major reductions, it doesn't end their. Many major retailers have also been pricing games and accessories very competitively as well, like reducing the price of Xbox One Elite controllers by 25% or even reducing the price of Dues Ex: Mankind Divided to $19.99.

There's no doubt that as Christmas gets closer the two major console kings are fighting to raise their sales. Whichever one wins in the end doesn't really effect me at all, but I'm happy to make purchases from either side will all of these price drops.
