“I was like yea!” is the victory cry of a five-year-old from San Diego native, Kristoffer Von Hassel that discovered a backdoor in the Xbox One password system. Like many kids his age, he was locked out from playing all of daddy's good games by not being able to log into his Xbox Live account. It turns out the security team of a multi-billion dollar company was no match for a toddler.
By entering the wrong password for his dad's account, it would take him to a verification screen-- there he only had to hit the space key and hit enter to access the account. Now before you go trying this yourself, Microsoft is already fixing in the issue and has even given Kristoffer credit as one of their official security researchers. For his contribution he'll receive 4 free games, $50, and a free year of Xbox Live.
This isn't even the first time Kristoffer has managed to bypass security on a device, his parents claimed he was only 1 when he was able to disable the screen lock on their cellphone. Really though... this kid has to be like the cutest hacker in the history of the world (sorry Angelina Jolie).
