Xbox One Getting 3.5 MM Audio Port on Controller

Remember when PlayStation fans and Xbox Users were battling each other before and during the launch of their respective game consoles of choice, arguing about which had the better features, better graphics, better services, better games?  Yeah, back when the PS4 and Xbone was still considered next-gen, the competition was fierce.  And now that both console users have been systematically destroyed by PC (and we find ourselves in an unlikely alliance as console users battle against the PC master race), it seems that we’ve forgotten the most important part of gaming culture: fighting over the lines that arbitrarily divide us.

And, to embrace that spirit of competitiveness: can you believe It took the Xbox One THIS long to get a 3.5mm audio port in their wireless controllers?!  PS4 controllers had it day one, n00bs, more like the Xbox Dumb, am I right?!

*ahem* As pointed out by the fine folks at Eurogamer, the Xbox Support Website has now listed an updated version of the traditional Xbox One controller which, while mostly similar to the old design, now has a place to plug in a pair of headphones built into it, rather than requiring a moderately expensive adapter.

These changes will come into effect on all controllers produced after June of this year, so don’t go rushing out to buy any right now.  Also, do you suppose this was supposed to be one of Microsoft’s big reveals at E3?  I hope not, because that would be super sad.
