Seems like the Xbox is striving to gain the upper hand on PlayStation. As an advantageous tactic, Microsoft has officially slashed $20 off the annual Xbox Live Gold subscription. That's right, instead of the typical $60, you're shelling out $40 for 365 days of free games, discounts, and fun multiplayer.
What is potentially the best part? The company has not declared whether this is a temporary deal or permanent one, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a permanent offer.
In additional news, for March, members who have an Xbox Live Gold account can obtain Rayman Legends for free, while Xbox 360 owners receive Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite. For April, all Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to get two free games, while Xbox 360 owners get four free games.
However, I am uncertain as to whether the games will be pre-determined or if there will be options to choose from. If there are options, the games probably won't be all that spectacular, but hey, they're free, and we can't complain about that, right?
Then again, I have seen people cancel their PSN subscriptions over the monthly selection of free games.
You can receive the new discount for the Xbox Live Gold yearly subscription by purchasing a digital code or a physical code.
