Since Overwatch had its Summer Games event, players have been patiently waiting for the next big thing. Though Blizzard has remained tight-lipped about it, the community assumed Halloween was going to be the next community event. The assumption was mostly based on the fact that most of Blizzard's other IPs also have standard Halloween celebrations. Aside from that, though, there hasn't been anything solid to go on. That is, until now.
Apologies for the quality.
Many Xbox One users noticed a mistake entry on the marketplace. Some of these users have posted their findings on Reddit. The item is specifically a set of in-game Loot Boxes with a Halloween theme. Just like with the Summer Games, these boxes are guaranteed to include at least one new item created specifically for Halloween. Judging from the leak, it seems Blizzard is treating this the same way they treated their Olympic event. This means players will most likely only be able to find Halloween items inside Loot Boxes. None of them will be for sale with in-game currency. This move is destined to make a lot of the more salty players rage, but Blizzard wouldn't be doing this again if the tactic wasn't popular the first time.
