Wrecking Ball, Overwatch's Hamster Tank is Available Now

He's a Tank Hero that's a hamster, not a tank full of hamsters.

When Hammond was announced, Overwatch fans were reveling over the idea of a regular sized hamster participating in these large-scale battles. Now the new hero is available for everyone in standard servers.

The super-intelligent hamster was developed in the same lunar base as the veteran hero, Winston. With high ambition and a bad case of wanderer's syndrome, Hammond eventually escaped the lunar base. Crash landing in the outskirts of Junktown, he gained a reputation as a mech fighter. Now he's been summoned to the fight.

Hammond, codenamed "Wrecking Ball" is a high mobility tank fighter that utilizes his round nature to literally roll into the battle. The developers remarked on the ridiculous nature of his design. When Overwatch was initially in development, they considered Winston, the hyper-intelligent ape, to be a bit of a stretch in silliness. Though as the community cultivated over the years, the climate grew increasingly right for something as silly as Hammond.

Overwatch is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
