Taking place in the Gaylord Texan resort and Convention Center in Dallas, it’ll run from August 24th until the 27th and will have over 2,000 seats available for people to plug their computers into. It’s open to the public, and even more exciting, absolutely free of any admission fees.
"This year's event will offer diverse activities for all, including those who choose not to bring their own computer. Attendees are first to see sneak peeks of Bethesda's upcoming titles and announcements while also attending a wide array of presentations, tournaments, workshops and exhibits from leading tech companies showcasing the newest gaming accessories and hardware."
There’s still quite some time before the event takes place, but it’s never too soon to start booking rooms. You can make a reservation at the Gaylord Resort now, and if you mention QuakeCon, the price gets dropped to $185 a night, which is too rich for my blood, but I guess if you’re willing to fly/drive thousands of miles with a high-end PC in tow, then it’s a steal.
There are more details here, if you want to read up on everything that’ll be going on. I, for one, will probably skip out, I’m pretty sure my weak laptop wouldn’t do much, but I’ll be looking forward to seeing all the cool new announcements that’ll be revealed!
