It was mentioned a week ago that Blizzard would be celebrating Diablo's 20-year anniversary come December 1st, and so far that's... pretty much what they've been doing. It's pretty low-key as far as Blizzard's concerned, with a few special events spread out across their games with special little treats and treasures, but perhaps the biggest celebration is in Diablo 3 itself (which is getting that remaster of the first game's iconic cathedral level) and World of Warcraft, which now has a not-so-secret-secret for players to uncover.
What you have to do is find a Treasure Goblin, who can be spied by lucky players in the Broken Islands, in any Legion dungeon, or in the Dalaran Sewers. The buggers will try to escape with a portal spell, but if you manage to kill them before they can, they'll spawn a portal which will take you to a hidden cow level, where you'll have to slice through hordes of moo-ing menaces. If you survive and manage to slay The Cow King, you'll get Twelve String Guitar toy and other goodies.
Pretty sweet, right? Maybe not what I was hoping for, when they said they'd bring Diablo's enemies into the world of Warcraft, but still, it's free loot and junk, and who can complain about slaughtering cows in masses?
If you want your shot, do it fast: the event ends on the 11th.
