To end the crusade of the Legion, the world of Azeroth was left damaged, but with this damage came a renewed hate between the Alliance and Horde. Just like the old days, the Alliance and Horde are duking it out to see who is the most powerful faction. The new expansion - dubbed Battle for Azeroth - will have players sent to two new islands, Zandalar and Kul Tiras, to find and recruit new allies in an effort to destroy the opposing faction. While dungeons and raids will, of course, be added to this expansion, there will be more focus on PVP. Additions and changes, such as the Dungeons and Dragons-style island expeditions and the removal of all PVP servers, are featured.

With the debut of pre-purchases, Blizzard has given players some extra incentive to grab their copy early. One of these incentives is the ability to play as one of the new Allied Races, who happen to be different styles of already existing races such as Trolls and Draenei, but they do have some pretty cool style changes added to them. The one caveat is that you have to complete some pretty large reputation grinds with certain factions in order to unlock these races.

The base pre-order is priced at $50, while the digital deluxe edition is $70, but the deluxe edition comes with some cosmetic goodies, including mounts, a pet, and even some content for other Blizzard games. More details on the additions can be previewed on the official site. For seasoned WoW-heads like myself, this is an exciting adventure back to the roots of Warcraft. What screams Blizzard more than the classic Alliance versus Horde trying to be the most dominant force in Azeroth? Nothing. Just to get you more excited if you aren't jumping out of your seat here is the cinematic for the new expansion.
