To put it simply, "Never say never." This is in response to Wipeout's return:
"There are many IPs that we kind of stopped iterating with new games. One of the reasons is we always love to work on new IP."
"From my standpoint I try to balance the number of games in a franchise. In the future there might be a chance to come back to a game like Wipeout."
Though Wipeout may return, that doesn't mean Crash Bandicoot will follow the same fate, as Activision--not Sony--owns the IP, which is saddening, because I am personally looking forward to a revival of the classic series.
Le sigh...
But on a more positive note, Syphon Filter studio Sony Bend is apparently up to... something.
According to Yoshida:
"Sony Bend exists. They are making some awesome cool game that we have not announced. I'm not allowed to say."
Well, this seems to be a fresh IP, but who knows? Guess we will just have to be patient, and in the meantime, write a petition letter to Activision about bringing Crash Bandicoot back.
