Windjammers was always a cool little title, having launched in the mid-90s for the Neo Geo and Neo Geo CD (as well as in arcades), but it later released on the Wii Virtual Console (in Japan, anyway), the PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita, though we are seeing a Nintendo Switch release soon.

Now, today, DotEmu has confirmed that a sequel to Windjammers is headed to the Nintendo Switch and PC, and it will be dubbed, "Windjammers 2."

Check out the trailer here:

Unfortunately, we don't have details on the gameplay quite yet, but from what we do know, Windjammers 2 will feature "entirely hand-drawn 2D animations," and it will "combine everything fans love about the classic title." This sports game will be due for release sometime in 2019.

So what do you think? Will you be picking it up for the Switch of PC? For me, it's definitely going to be the Switch.
