For years there has been a heavy debate between Microsoft and Sony. Being competitors in the console war, people have always chosen one side and refused to budge as advances are made and new games come out. Well, let's take a look at how things are shaping up for both sides here and see if we can come to a conclusion (SPOILER: We won't).
Even though we might not have a solid answer about which is actually "better", we can still discuss what the upcoming plans are for each console and make an assumption. The biggest statement people have been making about the PS4 Pro tends to be along the lines of, "Yeah, but it doesn't have every game running in native 4k (like Scorpio will be able to do) and it doesn't have a 4k Blu-Ray player inside of it." While that's very true, and very disappointing, the console will not be as strong as Scorpio technologically.
That's not a "fanboy" statement at all. It is proven and factual that Microsoft's new console will be stronger and have higher quality tech in it than Sony's PS4 Pro. While that's definitely a mark against Sony in the war, that's not the end of it here. What's that saying again? Just because you lose the battle, it doesn't mean you've lost the war? Something like that. So how can Sony make up for this lack of technology? Well, that would have to be the release of several incredible titles.
Now, this is probably the hardest part of the debate because it's based purely off of preference. Some people may like the Xbox exclusives, while others prefer the Playstation exclusives. Regardless of your side right now, you have to admit that there's at least one game coming out for the PS4 Pro that you want. Whether it's Horizon: Zero Dawn or Kingdom Hearts, there's definitely a game out there that you're excited to get your hands on. The games that will be released on Scorpio honestly don't look as amazing as the ones coming out for the PS4 Pro.
So, in terms of actual technological strength, Scorpio wins without a question. Does that mean we can say that it's the better console? Well, that depends a lot on if Sony fans can look at this next sentence objectively. If exclusives did not exist for these two consoles, the overall gaming experience would be better on Scorpio. Obviously that isn't realistic at all, seeing as how we do in fact live in a world with exclusives and that is what causes this debate to continue on and on. Sony has to rely on quality titles and Microsoft has to rely on the incredible power of their new console.
