Depending on how close your ear is to the ground, you may have heard whisperings about a new Alien game, titled Alien: Blackout. But what exactly is it?
It began with a recent trademark filing by 20th Century Fox for a new computer game called Alien: Blackout. The trademark covers physical discs as well as the digital software. It also includes phrasing that would imply a multiplayer online world.
Then came the Twitter accounts. Not long after the trademark was discovered, two new Twitter accounts under the same name appeared. Both accounts are set to private, with the FOXNEXT logo in place of the profile picture.
And now, Game Awards 2018 founder Geoff Keighley hints at the games reveal at the upcoming award show.
Keighley posted a picture on Twitter, showing the phrase "WORLDS WILL CHANGE" repeating. The post was captioned with the claim that worlds will change on December 6. The text font bears a strong resemblance to that used throughout the Alien franchise, and December 6 is also the day of the Game Awards broadcast. The same image is used as the header on both Keighley's and the official Game Awards Twitter account.
With the current evidence, it looks like we will see a new Alien game presented at this year's Game Awards. The show begins at 8:30 PM Eastern Time on December 6 (Thursday). Check out their Watch Page for more information on how to watch. You can also participate in the voting process before the show airs.
