We'll Learn More About Saints Row 5 in 2020

In August, we got the exciting(?) news that despite the fact that Saints Row IV ended the series pretty definitively, THQ Nordic was still working on another proper Saints Row game, because they like money and the Saints Row games are pretty good at reliably printing that stuff – assuming, at least, the games aren't a spin-off of the franchise (looking at you, Agents of Mayhem).

Well, we don’t have anything to really report on that front still – but now, at least, Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz has confirmed that the game is currently being worked on by Volition, the peeps who made the first four games. Furthermore, they’re being given the time and budget to make it right.

“With Volition, we have the creators of all the Saints Row games as an internal studio and they're not going to be distracted by anything else from creating our next game under this important franchise. Saints Row is very close to our hearts, and we'll talk about it next year. For the time being, we just wanted to get the word out that it's coming and it's going to be great."

It must be pretty close to their hearts, considering the third game was just released on the Switch and, lest we forget, a Saints Row movie is currently being planned.

Either way, word is that we’ll know a lot more about this upcoming game when it’s properly revealed next year. So we have that to look forward to, on top of everything else.
