A recent update has been made to the popular battle royale game, adding in an island to the Creative Mode map. The island, formally known as Weezer World, is full of the band's insignia and playing music from their recently released Black Album. To solidify its legitimacy, Weezer themselves tweeted about it.
"And now its finally time to kick back & relax on your very own island in the sun. Stop by the one of a kind Weezer World amusement park in Season 8 of @FortniteGame. Find it in creative mode and listen to the sweet sounds of #TheBlackAlbum while playing #FortniteCreative"
Fortnite is no stranger to cross-collaboration. The game has seen Marvel villain Thanos in his own, powerful game mode and a live concert by EDM artist Marshmello. And with Weezer's Teal and Black albums bringing them back into the media spotlight, now's never been a better time for the group to start putting themselves out there.
Some older Weezer fans have found the addition unsavory. But like with just about everything Fortnite related, it's a fun idea that isn't hurting anyone.
