However! That doesn’t mean we’re going to be in a rut of news: because Sony decided to host a State of Play livestream the other day, and several games were announced in the fifteen-minute stream. But I don’t care about most of them.
In fact there’s only one I really care about: the Monster Hunter: World expansion, Iceborne.
New adventure, new monsters, expanded combat and more! Monster Hunter World: Iceborne comes to PS4 and Xbox One on September 6th, 2019! PC version coming this Winter.
The trailer shows off quite a few new things. The most obvious would be the new monsters, which were many and dangerous, including something like an armed moose, a land shark, and a ice-dragon that apparently has a singing voice. But if you pay enough attention you probably noticed some other neat stuff too: new wildlife, such as the snow-rolling dung beetle. New tools, like the grappling gun-thing that allowed the hunter to throw themselves at their prey, new weapons, and of course brand-new armor crafted from the corpses of your enemies.
There’s also a plot or something but I think most people will agree that’s the least interesting part of any Monster Hunter experience.
Anyway, it’s pretty exciting stuff, and while it will no doubt inject the game with some new life, but frankly Capcom have been doing a pretty good job keeping the game fresh anyway. But now at least they can make it cool again.
