Comic book based videogames have the tendency to be cringe-worthy bad... but things have improved quite a bit in recent years. The Batman Arkham series has been an exceptional series- and a cowl-wearing, money-printing machine for WB Games.
When last year's Batman: Arkham Origins was handed off to developer WB Montreal, it was a safe bet that Rocksteady was working on a Batman title for the upcoming console generation. Little is known about Batman: Arkham Knight at the moment, but it will have a full feature in April's Game Informer.
Also, thanks to a cover leak by retailer GAME, we know that the game has a pre-order bonus with a playable Harley Quinn. As made very clear by the images and trailer, the Batmobile will be an essential new gameplay element.
Expect to see gameplay and voice cast announcements in the new couple weeks. This is also confirmed as Rocksteady's final Batman Arkham game, with plenty of rumors that they're already working on a Justice League title.
UPDATE: a supposedly leaked Gamestop ad has revealed the release date as 10/14/14... which matches the usual release window of the previous games.
