Back in July of last year, Way of the Samurai 4 invaded Steam, but we didn't know what was going on with Way of the Samurai 3, as it didn't appear on Steam! Well, Ghostlight recently announced via their blog that Way of the Samurai 3 will be ported to Steam.

Developed and published in Japan by Acquire and Spike Chunsoft, Way of the Samurai 3 is part of a pretty big but niche series that has seen its way onto a variety of platforms, including the PlayStation 2. I actually played the original, which I felt was intended for the hardcore (lack of save points, anyone?).

In Way of the Samurai 3, your choices will determine your ending. Now, there is exploration to be had. You have options between friends, but be warned that you can easily make enemies. Here are the features:

"The Butterfly Effect" - Yes, there are more than 20 different endings. Your actions, no matter how insignificant they may seem, determine these endings, providing a ton of narrative paths and lots of replayability.

"Huge Customization" - You can craft weapons from over 200 different parts that suit your fighting style. Weapons range from swords to spears and even poleaxes.

"Reward System and Samurai Rating" - Your actions and conduct will basically grant you with what are called Samurai Points and Titles, which can be used to unlock new game features, customization options, outfits, and accessories. You can live as a samurai with honor, or become an abhorrent bandit.

"The Pen Can Be Mightier Than the Sword" - You can either use force or talk your way out of conflict. There's an extensive dialogue tree and a combo system. Also subtle gestures, like unsheathing your sword, can make all the difference.

Now this game will be made available fairly soon. As for a release date, we're not sure, but expect it to be fairly soon.
