It's amazing how sometimes a patch can come out of left field and surprise both fans and the gaming community at large: they're such expected things these days, it's easy to forget the fact that changing games after they've been released is still something that's only been possible for a couple of years now. And when an old game gets some new patches, well, sometimes it's all it takes to remind you that you need to pick it up again and give it another go. Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide might not be quite two years old yet, but in gaming years that's basically ancient, so seeing this game get another update that adds some pretty exciting new features?

Interest is grabbed, to say the least.

This new patch, Update 1.9, has been dubbed "Arrogance Lost", and gives the game a number of super hard achievements that hardcore fans will have to struggle if they hope to unlock. It also comes with a brand new hidden area, called Trial of the Foolhardy: to access it, you have to beat Wizard's Tower on hard, then undergo the trial and beat it. Only then will you get the ability to access it whenever you want. Unless, of course, you have a friend who invites you to it.

But wait, there's more!

This patch also unlocks a number of hero skins, which can be unlocked for two bucks a pop, and comes with the expected balance changes and bugfixes that are standard with these kinds of things.

So what do you think? Enough to get you interested in fighting the swarms of those rat-things again? Or are you too busy with other Warhammer games to give this one another visit?
