So it’s only really a matter of time before we see a new Metroid game, a new Star Fox title… and of course, their most popular series (which they technically don’t even own), Pokemon.
Pokemon games have been a staple of every Nintendo console, even if that’s not what they’re not the platform where we typically see the biggest games. Where there has yet to be a mainstream Pokemon game released on a console, that might change in the coming years, as a new job ad (that was translated by the folks at Siliconera) released by Game Freak suggests that a whole new RPG adventure would be coming to the Switch.
We’ll have you work on the production an RPG game that is popular on a global scale.
Platform will be console.
It’s a title that just about anyone knows, a proposal that could be your future career.
While it doesn’t list Nintendo or Pokemon by name, Game Freak only really has one RPG that’s popular on a global scale, and there was already some talk that there’d be a mainstream Pokemon game released for the Switch earlier: after all, what better console for a Pokemon game than one designed to be taken on the go?
Details are sparse, of course, because job offers are a notoriously bad place to get information on these kinds of things - there’s nothing so much as a hint of a release date – but all the same, it’s pretty exciting. As long as it’s not, say, a new-and-improved Hey You Pikachu! That’d kind of be a bummer.
