Sup, butt faces? Tired of the drudgery of the Void Ark, but lacked the proper platform for escape? Here's your chance. The popular sci-fi shooter game Void Bastards is coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Void Bastards is a first-person shooter roguelike game originally released on PC and Xbox One last year. The player controls one of many rehydrated prisoners among the Void Ark, trying to escape and survive in the Sargasso Nebula. Inspired by games like Bioshock and System Shock 2, it was praised for its comic book style, dark humor, and engaging gameplay.
Now, one year later, the developers are bringing the game to the rest of the modern console fleet, specifically the Nintendo Switch and the Playstation 4. It'll release on both systems on May 7.
If we had to guess, their publisher, Humble Bundle, may have had a deal with Microsoft to limit the sale of the game to PC and Xbox one for the first year of the game's life. This is a tremendously common business tactic in the games industry and is usually why games release after precisely a year. This idea has not been confirmed, however.
Void Bastards will likely cost $29.99 when it releases on Switch and PS4. Otherwise, it is available now on Steam and Xbox One for the same price.
