In a turn of ironic events, California senator Leland Yee was arrested last Wednesday as FBI investigations revealed that Yee had been involved in organized crime. His charges include drug and gun trafficking, bribery, and general corruption. Leland Yee has been a general opponent towards the gaming industry, and has voted on multiple pieces of past legislation against video games, including one that would make it completely illegal to sell M-Rated games to anyone under 18.
The greatest irony is that Yee was a massive proponent in California's strict gun laws, yet was caught and arrested for charges on trafficking said weapons. As a result of these events, multiple parties are requesting his resignation, and close friends and advisers are stunned by the event.
Ahh, if only justice this sweet came to many more. It's a slippery slope, power-tripping, and if you're caught, you tend to be burned at the stake. There's honestly not much to say, other than "revenge is sweet". Luckily enough, we haven't come under too much fire lately, but the future still remains to be seen. As we move forward in a technologically-ingrained world, we begin to understand the different facets, and respect and take different variables into account.
It's time to move on. Move forward.
