Dontnod Entertainment, best known for their episodic story game Life is Strange, have announced that they will be delaying the release of a separate project known as Vampyr. A more modern take on vampires, Vampyr is set in London 1918. The player controls a doctor named Jonathan Reid who is trying to cure the sickness that has fallen over the country, while still falling susceptible to the cravings of his vampiric nature. The game will allow the player to follow different pathways based on these decisions. To doom or to save London is in your control.

Earlier today, Dontnod Entertainment announced as a news post that the release of Vampyr will be delayed until Spring of 2018

"we believe that meeting a deadline should never compromise quality"
- Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DontNod Entertainment

In the official statement, Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DontNod Entertainment, explains that while delaying a project one cares about is tough, a technical issue caused the development team to be set back in their rate of progress. He believes that it is a better choice to delay the project to allow the polish and refinement the game needs.

Going from teen girls to victorian doctors is quite the jump, but I have faith that Vampyr will be a fantastic game nonetheless. The new release date is Spring 2018 and will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The full announcement and statement can be read at the Dontnod news page here.
