Valve Takes Out the Trash by Removing Over 170 Troll Games

Not theses trolls specifically, but of the same quality.

Usually, when you hear about the games on Steam, it’s some article about how horrible Valve has been at monitoring the giant influx of crap games that are flooding their online marketplace.  However, recently the company has found itself embroiled in some drama surrounding their platform’s unusually strict/lax policies, and recently allowed the first completely uncensored porn game onto their platform after stating that the only thing they really wanted to stop was “troll games.”

Well, allowing adult games was one thing, but they had so far proven very bad at stopping troll games… but now, it seems, they’re actually putting their mouth where their money is, and it’s been revealed that since making their announcement, they’ve since removed 179 games from their online marketplace, and counting.

These games, as documented by PC gamer, include:
  • BOOBS BATTLEGROUND
  • LOGAN vs KSI
  • PUTIN, BOOBS and TRUMP
  • Mariko: Hot Nightlife
  • Home Alone Girlfriend
  • Dad's co-worker
  • X-Ray Hospital
  • Boobs Puzzle ~| 胸部拼图
  • Rich life simulator VR
  • Simulator hipstera 2k17
  • Bitcoin highway
  • MILF
  • Big Dick
  • Make Border Great Again!
  • Love Games
  • 32 Achievement Hunter games
  • Seven games with the word "hentai" in their name
As you can see, it’s a collection of low-quality porn games (which nicely disproves my earlier fear about their ability to police adult games) and a few political games that weren’t so much biting satire as they were… unlicensed propaganda? Either way, they’re gone, along with well over a hundred other games not included on the list.

I’m not sure if it’s right to say this signals a change of the tide over at Valve, who has historically never been too keen on doing their own moderation, but it’s a good start to a long, thankless job. And if you’re one of those people who happened to have a copy of the above games, don’t worry: you still get to keep it, it just means no one else can buy it and you can refund it whenever you want.

So go ahead and binge on Mariko: Hot Nightlife if you really want. No one’s judging.
