If you've never heard of Uppercut Games before, then you're probably in the majority, but although they may be small, don't underestimate their capabiities. Uppercut Games is comprised of developers that have worked on games such as Bioshock, XCOM and Tribes Vengeance.

Uppercut Games just released an announcment cinematic trailer for their new rougelite FPS, City of Brass. The trailer clearly shows influence from Bioshock, but City of Brass is nothing like it. It is a roguelite FPS, but it focuses on melee combat, and it pairs it with an interesting precedurally generated environment and a permadeath system.

While the concept of the game may not seem completely innovative at first, the combination of mechanics seems to provide a challenging and infinitely replayable gameplay experience. Of course this is a cinematic trailer, so we'll have to wait for some actual gameplay before we construct an educated opinion.

City of Brass is scheduled to release for PC, Xbox One and PS4 this fall. Wanna see more? Check out City of Brass's website here.
