Film adaptations of video games have been a thing for a long time. Most of the time, they suck. Sometimes, they're pretty okay. Regardless, the industry makes money, so they're going to keep coming out. One that's been kicked around for a while is based on the Uncharted franchise. It's been hit with speculation and delays for a while now, but now they have a script.
The current script was written by Joe Carnahan. If that name doesn't ring a bell, he's the same man who directed the "Liam Neeson Literally Punches a Wolf" masterpiece, The Grey. That's definitely an interesting choice that will likely yield an intriguing film. I'm not saying it's going to be a great movie or anything. We can't really find out until it comes out.
All because a script is finished doesn't mean the film is underway. The movie was originally intended to come out last year. The cast isn't even finalized yet. We don't even know who is going to play Nathan Drake. That alone is pretty strange, because we all know that Nathan Drake is literally just Nathan Fillion anyway. Any other choice just won't feel legitimate.
