The next DLC for Call of Duty: WWII has been announced. The expansion, called The War Machine, will introduce a new game mode: Aerial dogfights.

The content will launch on April 10. The first person shooter will include a new mission for War Mode known as Operation Husky. This mission includes a new mechanic that pits players against each other in combat planes.

Activision explained how the new mission will work.

"Operation Husky, whose namesake referred to the Allied invasion of Sicily, is centered on an Allied action to [retrieve] intelligence on the locations of sensitive German targets in the ports of Palermo and Naples. In this exciting new War mode offering, players will gather intel, transmit it to HQ, and then take to the skies to clear the area of enemy fighter planes in order to make way for Allied bombers."

This isn't the first time Call of Duty made players pilots. Various missions had them operates bombers and drones. The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Jackal Assault VR experience was a space dogfighting demo, as well. This is the first time it is WWII-based dogfighting, however.

Alongside Operation Husky, The War Machine update will also include three new multiplayer maps: Egypt, Dunkirk, and a German V-2 Rocket Facility. The Nazi Zombies game mode will also get a new chapter.

PlayStation 4 owners will get the content first, on April 10. No dates were announced for the Windows PC and Xbox One versions of the game.
