Winter is coming. And yes, I know that is overdone. I don't care.
But Subnautica, oh how I love thee. While it is a survival game, featuring building elements (you get to establish your own base and eventually a vehicle to get your butt off of the planet), I would also like to label the game as horror. I am uncertain if the developers fully intended the game to also be part of the terrifying genre, but the fact that you travel to the deep depths of the ocean, where there is not only darkness but also some "friendly" beasts ready to wave hello.
Either way, Subnautica is great, and the developers recently announced the release date for the early access of their previously-confirmed DLC/Expansion, Below Zero. It will launch on January 30, 2019 on Steam, Epic, and Discord Stores! In other words, just a few more days to go! To celebrate, studio Unknown Worlds Entertainment will be hosting a livestream on both YouTube and Twitch at 6PM UTC.
Keep in mind that Below Zero is not completely developed! So the icy landscape will be marred with bugs and it will run as well as a snail. Early Access is for feedback, and fortunately, due to the success of Subnautica's completion, we can trust them to release a valuable product. Look forward to Below Zero on January 30 for $19.99 USD.
