Undertale's Birthday was Something Special

The only thing missing was butterscotch and cinnamon pie.

I don't think any game has moved me quite like Undertale has. I was actually really late to the party, too. I only started playing Undertale about a month ago. Never before has a game brought such a range of emotion. Anyway, September 15 was the one year anniversary of Undertale's release. To commemorate it, the creator of Undertale, Toby Fox, helped us all celebrate. One way was by releasing a statement of retrospective about the game and its popularity.

Not only did I not expect this level of popularity, but initially, I was afraid of it. I didnt want UNDERTALE to become tiring for people, or become spoiled before anyone even got a chance to play it. Early on (this was probably excessive) I even tried to contact certain Lets Players to tell them not to make any content about it.

You can read the whole post here. I recommend you do so. Fox's words were very bittersweet to me. I hate to say it, but I was initially turned off a bit by the idea of Undertale. There's a reason why I waited so long to play it. It was everywhere I looked, and I got tired of it before I even started. I waited until the hype kinda died down a bit, and I quietly bought it and added it to my Steam list. Then, I waited a few weeks before playing it. As stated earlier, the game really moved me and spoke to me in a personal way. The story, characters, and music are an inspiration to creativity as well as life.

But anyway, I lost track. Another treat for players was the release of some unused music. You can start listening to them on the Undertale Tumblr page. It's exactly what you'd expect from Undertale. Needless to say, Undertale has had a wonderful first year. Hopefully, this continues on for a long time. Now if you excuse me, after a great article, I like to lie on the ground and feel like garbage.
