Toby Fox, designer of the popular indie game Undertale, has released a mysterious game after a series of equally-mysterious tweets. It's called Deltarune, and it's available now for free.

Fox had made a series of tweets on Tuesday, framed as an all-caps conversation with a secret entity. It spoke of wanting to show the reader something they've been working on that's far from complete. It concluded with a link to deltarune.com.

Said website, which is the presumed title of the game, shows no footage, screenshots, or anything gameplay related. Instead, it listed a warning for the players and a download link to an installer.

WELCOME.
PLEASE READ
THESE FINAL
WARNINGS.
THEN, TAKE
IT IN YOUR
HANDS.

* THERE MAY BE MOVING OR FLASHING IMAGERY.
* YOU MAY HAVE TO OVERRIDE SECURITY PROTOCOLS TO USE THE PROGRAM.
* FOR PUBLIC SAFETY, YOU ARE ADVISED TO REFRAIN FROM DISCUSSION OF THE PROGRAM FOR 24 HOURS.
* YOU ACCEPT EVERYTHING THAT WILL HAPPEN FROM NOW ON.

The game begins by asking that people don't talk about what they see in the game for at least 24 hours. In respect to Fox, I will abide by this and won't be detailing any such information.

What I WILL tell you is that the Deltarune is a few things. It's an anagram (letters of a word jumbled to create a new word) for Undertale, as well as a symbol seen in the game itself.

Fox has warned players that they may need to allow security permissions for the game. The game does a number of checks and modifications to the player's original Undertale file, which is the most likely cause of the security measure. In almost any circumstance, I wouldn't recommend allowing a security bypass for an .exe file. But given Fox's trustworthy history and lack of reported problems, I think this one is safe.

Certainly mysterious, those interested are best off playing the game for themselves. It can be downloaded on Deltarune.com for no cost.
