Personas - we all have at least one, though some of us carry multiple masks to suit a myriad of situations. Many of us even wonder if the person we are speaking to is geniuine - "the real deal."

Well, our curiosities are examined with Nightmarea's upcoming indie PC exclusive, Between The City and The Needle. The game is a conversation simulator where you have to uncover the identity of the person you're conversing with. You're a recent recruit at Honest Minds, "a facilitiy-based cover operation established by the government unit responsible for erradicting the threat and concealing it from the public." You are to pose as a psychologist as you face suspects of the threat: an unknown species mimicking human form that make up an alarming portion of the human population.

It's all up to you to decide the fate of the suspects. Can you guess their true identity correctly? Or make a horrible decision that will cost more than just a bit of the budget for the program? The game consists of quite a few interesting features, including but not limited to:

- Delving into the thoughts and memories of 40 suspects with their own personal motivations and traits

- Making a difficult choice between freeing the suspect or sentencing them to death

- Using an electronic communication system to contact co-workers

- Explore the innards of the facility and uncover secrets discovered from file hacking and document decryption.

Whatever choices you may make will lead to one of nine endings, so you would probably don your psychologist persona for a good while.

Though, just how well can you handle a crisis?

We can look forward to a teaser video next month, alongside in-game screenshots, with a trailer and demo to follow.
