Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Announced

Part of the ritual of a new console generationif you can even consider the Xbox One and the PS4 new anymoreis getting all the classic games we know and love from the previous generation and re-mastering them, giving them updated graphics and engines so that new and old fans alike can discoveror rediscoverthe best of the best of years past. So far, weve gotten a pretty good list of remasters going for the PlayStation 4, but one key name has been missing: Nathan Drake. Despite being a console mover for the previous generation (And A Thiefs End being one of the most anticipated games in the coming months) we hadnt yet seen a remaster of the Uncharted series.

Well, Im not going to say this was a surprise, but Surprise! Naughty Dog and Sony have been hard at work on the remakes of the Uncharted games, and today they were officially announced.
 

Since the launch of the PS4, weve seen plenty of requests across our Twitter, Facebook, and message boards all over the internet for the first three games in the Uncharted series, which have managed to sell an amazing 21+ million copies and garner an average 92 Metacritic rating, to receive a remastered release.

While leaked a bit early due to an error in the mobile version of the PlayStation Network Store, the official announcement and subsequent blog post followed a few hours later. Called Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection, this bundle of remastered games includes all three of the previous uncharted games (running at 60 FPS and 1080p graphics), plus a key to access to the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End beta multiplayer.

Additionally, if you pre-order the game (because of course there are going to be pre-order bonuses) you also get the Golden AK-47, the Golden 92FS, and different outfits for Drake to wear on his globe-trotting adventures.

The Nathan Drake Collection will be available October 9th worldwide, except in Europe, which gets it two days earlier.

Im not sure Im going to say Im hyped for this, seeing as I was never the biggest Uncharted fan, but hey, its pretty cool, at least, that were getting all three bundled together rather than three separate re-releases at full price!
