But if you’re hoping that maybe Nathan Drake would show up in that game, as another character or even as a cameo, then you’re gonna walk away disappointed: Naughty Dog reiterated over the PlayStation Blog that Nathan Drake’s story really is over. Really.
“We entertained a few possible ideas around including Nate as a secondary character. But everything we did felt superfluous because we tied it all up with Uncharted 4. We’re not going to touch on Nathan Drake in this, at all. You can sort of imagine Drake sitting on the couch playing Crash Bandicoot while Chloe and Nadine are off galavanting,”
The article also goes into details regarding the choice to put both Chloe and Nadine together, the kind of tools you’ll have available to you on your adventure, and the exciting locales you’ll be visiting. It also takes place six to twelve months after the events of Uncharted 4, with the search for a priceless relic (which is typically how these things start), the Tusk of Ganesh.
You can check out the article in full for more detail, but most of it is marketing stuff. Still, interesting, for Uncharted fans who are hungry for a clue as to where the franchise will likely be going… since you know Sony’s not about to let this series die.
