Well, not long after that reveal, Uncharted 4’s lead multiplayer designer Robert Cogburn found himself speaking at the Paris Games Conference about this upcoming title, where he was extremely forthcoming with something that’s a bit of a touchy subject as of late: the fact Uncharted 4’s multiplayer would, indeed, have Microtransactions.
"Microtransactions will be available at launch, but we'll have no gameplay items that will be gated through microtransactions.”
He continued to say that gameplay items will be unlocked by using currency earned in-game, so, it’s safe to assume right now that anything sold in the microtransaction shop will merely be cosmetics or convenience. So… that’s good. Not good enough to sate the rage players will likely feel at this news, but hey, something’s something, right?
He also added that this will very likely be the last Uncharted game. Seems appropriate, with the HD re-release of the first three games and the title ‘A Thief's End’. Here’s hoping Nathan Drake’s last adventure is an amazing one.
